Masuya Japanese Restaurant

This is the second time I’ve been here and this time it was for a Hen’s night last week.

We were a group of 18 ladies and booked for the 8.00 session. We had the $45 set menu and oh boy was that value for money!

We had two incredibly large servings of entrees that just kept coming. This consisted of a mixed boat, sashimi and sushi. The sashimi was so fresh you only needed to dip it into a small quantity of soy when I usually drown my sashimi (what? it’s a bad habit I know!)

The plum wine is probably the best I have had. It’s dual purpose, has a clean crisp taste but can get you quite drunk!

By the time the mains came, we were quite satisfied but forced the teriyaki beef, lovely tempura and karage chicken in. There were so much leftovers, a friend of mine mentioned that they should have a set menu designed for ladies only as we hate to waste food especially food of that standard! If only our men were with us!

Masuya doesn’t require a deposit to secure a table for large groups which is handy and the service is always impeccable. Always someone around if you need something. My friend, the Hen, actually dines here once a week for lunch. Creature of habit as she knows what’s good and sticks to it. Trust her judgement (and mine!) as she is one of the fussiest people that I know!
